Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal ranks among the premier technological institutes of India. It is one of the first eight Regional engineering Colleges in India. MANIT was established in 1960 with the joint effort of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. MANIT Bhopal was earlier known as Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT). In 2002, the institute was accorded the status of deemed university and was re-christened as Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology.
